THE CITY HALL on Minicards.com

THE CITY HALL

Until 1980 the area was an traffic hub for trams & trains, in August 1995 the trams returned and up until that day the square was completely trac free. Laid out in 1931, and it is the same size as the Red Square in Moscow and St Peter's Square in Rome. The semicircular space (Fridtjof Nansen Plass) was often known as the City Hall Square. Today the city hall square is often called Sjøplassen.
